01What it is and how it works

Frequently asked questions
Is a permit needed to build a shelter at home?
Yes, in most cases: in Italy a new underground room is a new construction and requires a building permit (Presidential Decree 380/2001), even if not visible from outside. Excavation, volumes, landscape constraints and condominium rules are assessed case by case with a qualified technician and the municipality, before any financial commitment.
In which countries are shelters mandatory?
Switzerland applies the principle of a protected place for every inhabitant, with domestic shelters fitted with filtered ventilation, heavy doors and an emergency exit. In Italy, Germany, Austria and France there is no obligation for private individuals.
How much does a private bunker cost?
It depends on the project: size, depth, access, planned length of stay and systems change the order of magnitude. NetCom Security Group sets the figure after the assessment, with a written itemised specification.
Do you guarantee total protection?
No. No system is inviolable: a serious project reduces a risk within declared, written limits. Being wary of anyone who promises otherwise is the first criterion for choosing a supplier.
Can it also be used as a cellar or storage room?
Part of the room can have more than one use, as long as it does not compromise air-tightness, air supply and access. This is decided at the design stage, not afterwards.
Who carries out the work?
NetCom Security Group directly handles the study, project development, machinery and accessories of the shelter. Structural works are designed and signed by qualified technicians and carried out by qualified contractors coordinated by NetCom: the client has a single point of contact.
Which machinery and accessories does NetCom handle?
NBC ventilation and filtration, backup power, water reserves, communications, doors and the electronic security of the shelter. We select and size them on the project: number of people, length of stay and the risk considered.
Do you work outside Italy?
Yes, on a project basis. We follow clients and studios in other European countries, with in-house language contacts and coordination of local technicians where regulations require it.
