For the full picture, see safes and vaults.

Safes and vaults for jewellery stores: NetCom Security Group selects, supplies and installs, with its own technicians, safes, armoured cabinets and vaults for jewellery stores, goldsmiths, workshops and luxury boutiques, and connects them to the shop's alarm system.

In a jewellery store the safe works twice a day: in the evening it takes in the pieces removed from the windows, in the morning it gives them back. That is why we choose it starting from what it must hold, who opens it, when it is opened and what the insurance policy requires, not from a catalogue.

What a shop needs to keep safe

01Window stockjewellery and watches on display during the day and locked away at night; it needs tidy space, with drawers and trays that can be filled and emptied in a few minutes.
02Reserve and stockroompieces not on display, customer orders, consignment goods; separate compartments with different access rights are often needed.
03Workshopprecious metals, stones, work in progress and customer repairs, kept apart from the goods for sale.
04Cash and documentstakings, registers and business documents, ideally in a smaller, separate unit.

Resistance grade and insurance

Every professional safe has a burglary resistance grade, certified by an accredited laboratory under the European standard EN 1143-1: the higher the grade, the more time and tools are needed to break in. For a jewellery store this also matters for insurance: many policies link the insurable value to the grade of the safe, and the conditions should always be checked with your insurer. We start from there and propose products with a grade declared and certified by the manufacturer. Weight and appearance do not prove resistance: the certificate does.

Opening during business hours and at closing time

The most delicate moment is not the night, but opening and closing the shop. This is why we assess with you:

  • electronic locks with an opening delay, which leave a few minutes between the code and the release;
  • time windows during which the safe cannot be opened, for example at night and on closing days;
  • dual code, when two people are needed to open;
  • an opening log, to know who opened and when;
  • a small safe or compartment for daytime use, separate from the reserve.

Vault, strongroom or armoured cabinets

A safe is a container; a vault or strongroom is an entire protected room, closed by a door of a suitable class. For a shop with a lot of stock, a workshop or several windows to empty every evening, an armoured room at the back, with cabinets and drawers inside, is often the better choice. See vaults and strongrooms and vault doors and armoured doors.

Connected to the alarm and cameras

The safe is part of the system, not a stand-alone object. We connect it to the alarm with sensors that detect vibration and attempts to open it, and coordinate it with cameras, access control and hold-up buttons. For monitoring and response we work with several security companies, chosen with you according to the business. See security for jewellers and access control.

How we work

  1. Site visit to the shop, also outside opening hours, and signing of the confidentiality agreement.
  2. Outline inventory of what needs to be kept safe, and of who opens, when and how.
  3. Check of floor, walls, delivery route and what the insurance policy requires.
  4. Written proposal with products, resistance grade, installation and connections to the system.
  5. Delivery and installation by our technicians, anchoring, connection to the alarm and final testing.

Confidentiality

A jewellery store should not let anyone know where it keeps its goods or how it protects them. We sign a confidentiality agreement before receiving floor plans or information about values, we ask only for the data we need, and our clients' projects remain confidential.

Where we work

We work throughout Italy, from Verona, and on a project basis also in Europe. We speak Italian, English and German. For a safe at home or for a private collection, read safes for jewellery, watches and collections.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a safe for a jewellery store cost?

The cost of a safe for a jewellery store depends on the resistance grade, size, interior fittings, lock, installation and connection to the alarm. After the site visit NetCom prepares a tailored written proposal.

Which resistance grade does a jewellery store need?

The resistance grade of a jewellery store's safe depends on the value of the goods kept inside and on what the insurance policy requires. NetCom checks the policy conditions with you and proposes a unit with a grade certified under EN 1143-1.

A large safe or a vault at the back of the shop?

With little stock a safe or an armoured cabinet is enough; with a lot of stock, a workshop or several windows to empty every evening, an armoured room is often the better choice. NetCom decides this with you after seeing the shop.

What is an opening delay?

An opening delay is a function of the electronic lock that leaves a few minutes between entering the code and the release. It is used in businesses open to the public and is often combined with time windows and an opening log.

Can the safe be connected to the shop's alarm?

Yes: NetCom connects the safe to the alarm system with suitable sensors, together with cameras, access control and hold-up buttons.

Do you also install and move the safe?

Yes: delivery, installation, anchoring and testing are carried out by NetCom technicians, who first check the floor, the route and the dimensions. We also move the safe if the shop relocates or is renovated.
